David Sirota

i say let the pushing and getting his back start...President Obama, that is.......we are all going to have to be involved if we expect things to change. or more to the point, so we go in the right direction, cuz we will not have the luxury of too many more mistakes. things will change. the question is going to be, can we adapt and join with all the other inhabitants of the planet to try for survival......
please wake up America

CONVENTION DISPATCH: The Rise of the Democratic
Wing of the Democratic Party (8:12 am)
Yesterday morning during a CNN discussion from the floor of the Democratic convention in Denver, I told anchor John Roberts that despite the personality tiff between the Obama and Clinton people, and despite some blemishes on Joe Biden’s record, one thing is undebatable: The progressive wing of the Democratic Party - the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party, as Paul Wellstone famously called it - has finally defeated the corporate wing of the party.

just for fun......john and joe

Stephanie Miller had me laughing out loud today when discussing possible VP selection by the rethugs with Jason Alexander ……her conclusion…”all I know is they’ll have to get the jaws of life to pry Joe Lieberman’s tongue out of John McSame’s ear.”

remembering Kathy

I had the pleasure of her company during the last few years of her life. When she first came to us, she was ambulatory. She had end stage kidney disease and required dialysis and progressively became less abled. When I last saw her she required assistance to transfer from her bed to a wheelchair. She was a high maintenance gal and kept staff dancing to meet her needs. She knew how to be sweet but often chose a demanding entitled tone.

I displeased her one night, early in our relationship, and she insulted me so nicely she won my heart. She felt my blood pressure aquisition skills were lacking. After refusing to allow me to repeat the reading she stated sweetly, "dear, i don't mean to be unkind, but you really should get a breath mint."

President Gore says tax what we burn, not what we earn

we are challenged to break our addiction to the disasterous carbon based fuels and save our planet for future generations. if we actually add the real cost to the extraction and burning of fossil fuels suddenly solar, wind and geothermal begin to look like a real bargain. and the new infrastructure we will create will mean good jobs for humans. blowing the tops off the world's second most diverse forest on the planet, 2nd only to the tropical rain forest, is an ongoing environmental disaster. and that's before the coal is even burned. killing and dying so the corporatists can secure the oil in countries where other humans are trying to live is bankrupting our nation in every way.
thank you President Gore for once again asking us to do the right thing......

100% zero carbon energy in 10 years!
